Empowering Educators Through the Train-the-Trainer Model

Using the train-the-trainer model and the structured discovery method, educators will receive coaching and mentoring from METAS. Our team will guide them in developing the skills and knowledge they need to deliver the instruction themselves.

Orientation and MobilityHow to independently travel with a white cane using the structured discovery method.
Structured DiscoveryStructured Discovery comes from the lived experiences of blind people shared through the National Federation of the Blind. It focuses on non-visual skills, problem solving, personal attitudes, and giving back. Find out more information about Structured Discovery here.
SportsSports such as Goalball, Beep baseball, and Soccer.
Daily Living SkillsSkills that enable blind individuals to live independently in their homes, such as cooking, dressing/hygiene, and how to adapt appliances around the house.
Self-AdvocacyUnderstanding what the law for individuals with disabilities is and how to advocate for their rights.
BrailleReading and writing system for the blind.
